This guide will show you how to easily migrate your contacts over when you buy a real phone like the Galaxy S3/S4 after using an iPhone.
There are two main options open to you for migrating contact data over to Google for use on your new Android device.
- Use iTunes to sync with Google
- Use a iOS application from the AppStore to migrate contacts
Each option has it’s advantages and disadvantages.
Using an iOS Application negates the need to sync your iPhone with a computer using iTunes, especially if you normally backup using iClound and do not regularly connect to a computer. However most of the decent apps that perform this task do cost a couple of dollars so it can end up costing you a little to do it this way.
Performing the migration via iTunes sync is totally free and will not cost you a cent, however it does involve some more work and requires that you sync your phone with a computer that is connected to the internet. Also please be aware that if you have previously synced with a computer you will need to use the same one to perform this operation otherwise you risk wiping the data on your phone.
